Automation and Instrumentation Engineer M/F
As part of its development, Water Horizon is strengthening and structuring its service division and is recruiting an automation and instrumentation engineer to support the deployment of its innovative industrial solutions for the energy transition.
In this position, you will design, develop, and commission the automated and instrumented systems for our industrial units. You will help ensure their performance, reliability, and safety, while participating in the continuous improvement of our technical solutions.
Hierarchical attachment
Reporting to Automation Manager, you work in close connection with internal technical teams as well as with partners and suppliers involved in the projects.
Your Goals
You are responsible for the engineering of automated and instrumented systems for our industrial units, from writing the specifications to on-site commissioning.
You work closely with design, production, and technical partner teams. Curious and proactive, you also contribute to the development of new features aimed at improving the efficiency, maintainability, and standardization of our solutions, in terms of both software What hardware.
Job responsibilities
The automation and instrumentation engineer is involved in the entire project lifecycle, from defining needs to supporting commissioning on site. As such, your main responsibilities are as follows:
- Write up the functional analyses and specifications.
- Develop and program Schneider PLCs under Control Expert and Wago under CODESYS.
- Integrate and configure industrial networks and fieldbuses: Modbus TCP/RTU, Profibus, Profinet, Profisafe, Ethernet/IP.
- Read, analyze, and modify electrical schematics and P&ID.
- Perform instrument calibration, loop tuning PID And the commissioning of variable frequency drives.
- Provide ad-hoc support to site commissioning teams: input/output tests, adjustments, calibrations., FAT/SAT, commissioning.
- Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of industrial installations.
- Participate in the integration of solutions Industry 4.0 and contribute to technological watch
Your profile:
Required qualifications:
- Engineering degree or Bac+5 (5-year university degree) in automation, instrumentation, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering.
- A Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) with significant experience in an industrial environment may also be considered.
- You have solid experience in programmable logic controller programming and industrial commissioning.
Required skills:
Automation and programming
- Schneider Automation Mastery M340 and Wago PFC200.
- Good command of programming environments Control Expert and CODESYS.
- Knowledge of Siemens PLCs S7-1500 and of TIA Portal is a plus.
Industrial Networks and Communication
- Mastery of protocols and fieldbuses Modbus TCP/RTU, Profibus, Profinet, Profisafe, Ethernet/IP.
Complementary technical skills
- Reading, analyzing, and modifying electrical schematics and P&ID.
- Instrumentation calibration, loop tuning PID, commissioning of variable frequency drives.
- Commissioning, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and remote support experience for industrial installations.
Professional skills:
- Ability to work in a team with rigor, autonomy, and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in interactions with clients, suppliers, and technical partners.

Remuneration
Compensation based on profile and experience, within a range of €43,000 and €60,000
