Jean-Emmanuel FAURE is the founder and leader of the WATER HORIZON.

A graduate engineer in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics from Toulouse INP (Institut National Polytechnique), he obtained student-entrepreneur status enabling him to use the laboratory facilities of the IMFT (Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse). His initial work focused on optimizing seawater desalination solutions.

It was during a visit to the Toulouse wastewater reprocessing plant that he had a ‘revelation’: the sludge reprocessing process creates a phenomenal surplus of unused heat. Since then, he has turned his attention to making the most of this waste heat by exploiting several of the concepts and innovations he had developed.

Two families of patents have been issued and extended internationally.

Recognized at the time by the Nubbo incubator (formerly the Midi-Pyrénées incubator), then by Dalkia and IRDINOV, his objective and determination are focused on the design and industrialization of profitable renewable solutions capable of competing with fossil fuels to make a reliable contribution towards the energy transition.

“I am convinced that the industrial energy transition can only be achieved through the development of solutions that will support manufacturers: solutions that are simple, safe, quickly exploitable (Plug & Play) and require little investment.
